Meet Minnette Taylor

Minnette Taylor was born and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the Nicetown area. She attended Benjamin Rich Middle school and went on to graduate from Abraham Lincoln High School. She believes that all children deserve a quality education. She sees providing quality early childhood education as an impetus for successful life-long learning.


Taylor is the current owner of G & T Daycare Montessori School; a STAR 4 childcare program in Philadelphia that was established in 1998. G & T Daycare Montessori School provides services for PHL pre-K and the military AF Home Community Program for children 3 to 12 years old. The program is aimed at generating a world of creative thinkers, life-long learners and community builders. Taylor’s program prepares children for kindergarten by building the child’s cognitive development starting at their level of understanding. She also advocates at the local and state level to increase the training and education of early childcare professionals around Montessori education.

Minnette Taylor has over 20 years of experience in the field of education. She is a coach for the 1199c Pennsylvania Apprenticeship program for Philadelphia and Delaware County. She earned a dual bachelor’s in management and Education and a master’s degree in early childhood education Montessori Teaching from Chestnut Hill College. Minnette holds a Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license, Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System as a certified PQAS trainer and AMS Montessori teacher, NAFCC trainer and observer, Child Development Associate (CDA) PD Specialist.
